A trip to Athens

Posted on Tuesday 30 September 2008

It was Ohio Universities Homecoming this weekend. We dressed Jillian up in her Bobcats Chearleader gear and took her down to Athens. Mama and Papa Mudra were there too.

My Two Loves of My Life

Posted on Saturday 20 September 2008

I can’t resist posting this picture tonight as well.  Last weekend was my brother-in-law’s wedding and Joe was the best man.  He looked so handsome in his tuxedo and Jillian was a cute little princess in her dress!  I’m so happy to have both of them in my life.  When Aunt Barb bought this dress for Jillian when she was born, it was hard to believe that she would fit in it some day.  Well, now that day is here and she looked so beautiful!  I will try to get a post with more wedding pictures soon!

Baby’s First Food

Posted on Saturday 20 September 2008

So about a week 1/2 ago, we took Jillian to her 4 month check up.  The doctor gave us the go ahead to try to feed Jillian some rice cereal.  The first night I tried it, Joe was not home and boy was I in for a surprise.  It didn’t help that I waited until Jillian was absolutely starving to try it.  The first bite came right back out, and the next came right back, and then the next…you get the picture.  And between every bite, she cried because she just wanted something fast!  I couldn’t help but laugh, which I’m sure didn’t make her feel any better.  I managed to snap a picture as quickly as possible between a few of the bites…here is what it looked like:

Who is REALLY telling the truth? Obama or McCain?

Posted on Monday 15 September 2008

So I had a nice conversation with Edie about politics over the weekend. She is just like me in that, we’re both so fed up with all the BS from both parties. But one thing she said was that when her and Barb looked at FactCheck.org, there were more Obama lies than McCain.
So, being the curious one that I am, I started searching for “Who is the bigger liar in politics” on google. And I found an interesting article release on Friday that actually tallies up the number of lies told by each candidate, and categorizes the lies into 3 categories based on their severity. The criteria for these categories of lies can be found on the PolitiFact.com website.

These stats were pulled from politifact.com, another bipartisan website that does fact checking for the St. Petersburg Times.

We can officially say that McCain is the bigger liar. And Obama tells the truth way more often.

WWRS? (What would Rush Say?) : “That’s just a lie being told by the liberal media.” This is the argument that all conservatives use, whenever some facts that are negative are released.

Read the article that pointed me to these facts.

And as always, Be Smart… Vote Obama!

And for a good Laugh… watch…

Just the facts - FactCheck.org

(only to include blanket statements about republicans)

We all know that politicians lie. What is crazy about the RNC or the DNC, is the speakers can say WHATEVER they want. Same thing goes for the canidates on a day-to-day basis.

So, how do we tell the difference between the truth and a lie. You can’t exactly check w/ your favorite news outlet, b/c most of them are bias one way or another as well.

That is where this site comes in handy….

FactCheck.org

“We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit, “consumer advocate” for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics.”

It is interesting to see what the parties will lie about to get your vote.

For the newest lies… check out McCain/Palin’s new ad

Suddenly “Obama gave $$$ to big oil”

Proven by Fax Check as a untrue.
